"... the surest but most difficult means of preventing crimes is to perfect education ..."
Cesare Beccaria, "Of crimes and punishments", chap. XLV
“Converting wasteful lives into worthy ones.” This was said by a student of "Bocconi in Opera", a social re-education project that our University has supported since 2016 and which allows inmates with sentences of over five years to graduate from the CLEAM program (Business Administration). Up to now, 11 students have been involved who, thanks to 24 Bocconi professors and specific activities and tools, receive the video recording of the lessons every week and can then take the exams directly at the Opera correctional facility thanks to the support of tutors.
Bocconi fully bears the costs of tuition and punctually verifies the effects of the program on the quality of life of those who benefit from it: engaging in a course of study helps inmates to regain courage and confidence, pushing them towards growth both as individuals and as citizens.
THE FUNDRAISING PROJECT
Mattia, to everyone's great satisfaction, graduated in July 2020 thanks to the “Bocconi in Opera” project; now he would like to put himself to the test once again and continue his studies with the MIMEC Master, a program aimed at the job placement of participants.
We can help him take this further step by donating to this fundraiser.
Beccaria said precisely how important it was to "perfect education": So, let’s support this project together. We trust Mattia. Let's give him the chance he deserves.
in bocca al lupo mattia!
Buona fortuna Mattia
